JAPAN - Yesterday FEB 21st in Japan the G3 Diamond Stakes was run at Tokyo Racecourse. Favourite Stinger Glass took out the race in resounding fashion. The five year old entire missed the start from barrier 13 and travelled three wide around the first and second turns. By the 1300m he was posted outside the leader, and on the turn with 600m to go, jockey Christophe Lemaire pushed the button. Stinger Glass raced clear to win by more than a length for the biggest win of his 11 start career. He has proven to be a late bloomer, missing all the three year old classic races, but he finished off his 4 year old season with a 2nd in the G2 Copa Republica Argentina over 2500m. Yesterday’s (21/2/26) win was her second start this campaign and in both runs the Chris Waller import Travolta has been nearby. The gelding by Lope De Vega is also on a Sydney Cup path and is currently one of many hopefuls being offered at $15 for the Australian autumn’s premier two mile event.
