Staying The Distance - The Melbourne Cup & Horse Racing Channel is the brainchild of Lew Dub. The website - spawned out of the famed YouTube channel - looks to offer punters a specialised view at the world’s greatest staying races and their likely winners, with the Melbourne Cup as the centrepiece.

The young Lew Dub grew up immersed in the world of horse racing and punting courtesy of his father a freelance trainer/driver of standardbred pacers. Eventually, the Melbourne Cup became an obsession for Lew when he had a cheap crack at a trifecta in the 1997 edition of the Race That Stops The Nation. Going oh so close to an approximate $3000 windfall was an eye-opener and soon Lew became obsessed with picking the Melbourne Cup First 4.

In his early years of Melbourne Cup obsession Lew would wait until early September when The Sportsman would publish the First Nominations for that year’s Melbourne Cup
