Another One Bites The Dust
Another Melbourne Cup nominated runner is said to be heading to the spelling paddock. According to Ray Thomas, Green Spaces will be withdrawn from the Melbourne Cup, presumably before the third declaration payment is due on 26th October.
That information was provided on Sky Racing’s News Central program on Monday night 19th October. Trainer Bjorn Baker pulled the pin on Green Spaces’ Cups campaign based on the fact he had been on the receiving end of some severe buffeting throughout the Caulfield Cup. The comments can be seen and heard on the video below (18min mark).

Meanwhile, Ohope Wins’ name was withdrawn from the Melbourne Cup Order Of Entry after her sad demise in the Caulfield Cup. Below you will find the updated Order Of Entry (19/10/26) up to the 40th horse. Over the weekend Saint George’s runner up effort in the Caulfield Cup saw him elevated to 22nd in the Order, and ensures he will have a place in the Melbourne Cup field if connections choose that path. In addition to that news, Klondike was able to progress to 33rd in the Order of Entry after finishing 3rd in the ATC St Leger at Randwick on Saturday. Unfortunately, the winner of that race So You Are is lingering in 35th place due to some of the intricacies of the Melbourne Cup Conditions of Entry.
